EU
ELECTIONS
by system
failure
The latest
four years, Greece has been experienced one of the worst periods in
its modern history. Due to the economic crisis, the country has
become the lab rat in an experiment which seeks to detect the
reactions against the new conditions imposed by capitalism in its
most destructive version.
In the field
of the new conditions imposed, the strength and tolerance of a whole
society is being tested - a society that fate have chosen to play the
role of the lab rat in one of the most cruel experiments in modern
history. However, since the experiment is not finished yet, what the
European neoliberal economic empire fears most, is its abrupt
termination which will put in danger the plans for its expansion
throughout Europe.
The fact
that current European political class is being used by the European
economic elite to deregulate the system further, proves that this
economic elite fears the rise of other European political forces
which would be difficult to "handle". In other words, the
economic elite attempts to secure the desirable conditions in Europe,
and globally, so that any other political forces may come to power,
would have to deal with pre-determined facts and would be very
difficult to make moves and change the situation in favor of the
majority of people.
The class
war has started in Greece and in the countries of south. Additionaly,
similar policies have been applied, although on different scale, in
the rest of the countries of south and periphery. This happens
because if these policies had been imposed in those countries with
the same tension as in Greece, there would be a great danger for the
"safety pillow" called middle class to collapse and bring
unpredictable consequences and dangerous "instability"
against the completion of the experiment and the establishment of the
neoliberal dictatorship conditions.
Even in
Greece, although in relatively short time, these policies have been
applied gradually so that the middle class will not collapse at once
to put the plans of the economic oligarchy in danger. It's a good
thing that Merkel and Samaras have shown how much they want to
present a "success story" in contrast with reality, which
is total destruction because through this way they show that they
truly fear for the result of the euro elections. They fear for a
European parliament that it would be difficult to control.
In Greece,
the known propaganda of fear has been triggered again. The mainstream
media continuously promote estimations of the biggest international
banks, stating that the result of euro elections may bring
instability in the markets and the "invisible" and supposed
independent investors are ready to "launch" the Greek bond
spreads, in case that the Greek voters will choose to vote against
the traditional neoliberal parties in power, or, their "satellites".
As expected, the Berlin has been mobilized too, through the recent
statements by Wolfgang Schäuble, which the Greek mainstream media
reproduced always on the direction of the propaganda of fear:

Additionally,
this is a good sign that there are forces in Europe which indeed
fight against catastrophic neoliberalism and which are not under
complete systemic control, at least for the moment. The traditional
parties in power that have completely adopted the neoliberal agenda,
understand that there is a rising potential coming from millions of
Europeans who are determined to fight against the catastrophic course
of Europe today.
In essence,
what we observe already in Europe, is a gap between its citizens and
the European bureaucratic power, that continuously grows. There is an
obvious distance between the parliamentary authority and bureaucratic
elite which is involved with the big banking and corporative
interests imposed by lobbyists in Brussels' corridors. The best proof
for this, are the categorical conclusions by the European parliament
against Troika's policies.
However, the
inability of the elected political power to impose the will of the
European citizens to the various EU mechanisms, is also due to the
fact that, for decades, the Right-wing parties and the Socialists
were ruling euro parliament through a very wide majority and this
resulted in their ideological corruption by the neoliberalism as the
dominant dogma, mostly the last three decades, as well as, by their
involvement of their executives with the big economic interests, at
the expense of the majority of the European people. The best proof
for this is the fact that they have openly chosen to save the big
banks at the expense of the European taxpayers during the last big
financial crisis.
Despite all
these, there are examples which show that the euro parliament can
prevail over bureaucrats who are not elected directly by the
electoral body and serve specific interests, as long as gets the
support of the active European citizens. A recent example is the
rejection of European Commission's proposal for the establishment of
special monopoly conditions in seeds market, by the euro parliament,
thanks to millions of signatures of European citizens:

The support
of neo-nazis in Ukraine shows the degeneration and hypocrisy of a
Europe that is supposedly defending humanitarian values. It is clear
that, the defence of these values is selective and being applied in
specific circumstances proportional to specific interests.
In order
Europe not to slip further in a situation of greater degeneration, it
is necessary European citizens to vote massively in the forthcoming
euro elections against the traditional powers of neoliberalism. The
greater the losses of these powers, the better will be controlled in
the euro parliament and the more difficult will be to apply
catastrophic policies against the majority of citizens in favor of
the big capital. The greater the power of the anti-neoliberal forces
in the new euro parliament, the faster the experiment will be
terminated in Greece and its expansion throughout Europe will be
postponed or even canceled.
