Eric
Draitser of StopImperialism.org appears on “Global Peeks” with
Brian Muhammad (Nov. 19, 2015) to discuss a wide range of political
and geopolitical issues. They examine the recent terror attacks in
Paris, the lingering questions about the mainstream narrative, and
the connection to US-NATO foreign policy in Syria and beyond. Eric
also provides his analysis of the war on Libya and how that
imperialist war was the beginning of a continent-wide destabilization
throughout North and West Africa especially, including giving rise to
Boko Haram and other terror groups. The conversation also touches on
Russia and China, how terrorism has been used by the US as a weapon
against them, and what the ultimate goal of this global strategy is.
All this and much much more in this wide-ranging interview.
Interesting
points:
Libya
needs to be understood as the staging ground for a continent-wide
destabilization all throughout the North Africa and West Africa
region for the purposes of preventing China from consolidating its
position and providing Africa with an alternative development model.
These countries understand that they are enslaved by debt, enslaved
by corporate capital to the West, that their independence is nominal
at debt and they see in China a potential alternative development
path. That is what the US and its allies have to crush, and terrorism
is one of the ways that they are doing that.
If you
listen to the corporate propaganda they'll tell you that it is the
Islamic State, it is global terrorism, they want to kill us for our
freedoms, etc., all that sort of nonsense. The reality is, they need
to continue to use terrorism both abroad and potentially also here
for the purposes of justifying the foreign policy objectives and
justifying the ever growing police state that we have in the US.
This
organization [Caucasus Emirate] carried out many terrorist actions
inside of Russia and within these regions that they inhabited. This
is an example of an organization financed by the Saudis backed by the
United States for the purposes of waging what can be called
irregular, or even, asymmetrical terror war against Russia.
China has
a very real destabilizing conflict emerging in its far western region
known as Xinjiang, which is considered by the Muslim Uyghur
population there called east Turkestan. These are people of Turkic
descent who are Muslims, but who are Chinese, that is to say they are
Chinese citizens within the People's Republic of China. You have the
presence of US intelligence deeply rooted for many years in that
population. [...] The World Uyghur Congress. This is the principal
advocacy organization for the Uyghurs who constantly talk about
Chinese oppression of the Muslim population, Chinese attacks on the
Muslims of Xinjiang, etc. The World Uyghur Congress' the number one
funder is the National Endowment for Democracy, that is the State
Department of the US government. This is an organization that does
not exist without the sponsorship of Washington. [...] Why would
Washington send millions upon millions of dollars into a Muslim
organization in Western China? The answer is very simple: they need
to agitate ethnic based conflicts using terrorism in order to
destabilize countries that the empire sees as opponents of their
global hegemony, specifically Russia and China.
